family pictures in October

J is a fellow photographer, and of course that means he is never in any. So when he wanted some family pictures done, I was so up for it. Wellllll, I haven't taken any pictures of little kids in a while and I am SO out of practice. However, J&C were super-patient and awesome, and eventually we got some good shots. At least I think so.

I think this one is my favorite.
And this would have to be my favorite shot.

the wedding of j&t

So this was one wedding where we talked to the groom first. T knew le husband through the local coffee shop, so we met J later. can I just say that they are a lovely couple, and an absolute delight to work with? T was super-organized, J super-relaxed, and the whole wedding party was fun and outgoing. The day was a little cool, but by the time everyone was done dancing, nobody minded!

So there was no flower girl, but there was a small niece who hung out with us as the bride got ready, and she was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

the dress
T had arranged where J was getting ready, and it was a suprise. It turned out to be the guest cottage where they were to spend the night. This window is in the master bedroom, and it just bathed the whole room in gorgeous light. Lovely.

Surrounded by her 'maids.

the lovelys + equine
The guest cottage had so many lovely locations. This handsome horse came over to investigate as we were shooting; either he wanted to be a bridesmaid or he wanted to eat a bouquet. I'm not certain.

the handsomes
The guys spent the morning shooting at the family vineyard, but when they clean up, they clean up well. Wouldn't you agree?

That's the mother of the bride, and no, she didn't wear those all night. (Side note: she was awesome. loved her.)

I just love you girls

e-session for L&K

So Sunday I had an e-session with L&T. It was long, but ohsofun, and I had to post a few pictures so L can get a sneak preview. We started out in downtown Cambridge. I'd never been down there before, but it's a completely adorable town, and we had a blast. There were all sorts of adorable alleys and walls. There's another shot in the queue involving post office boxes, and may I just say that it's totally cute.

We then headed over to the Cambridge Hyatt. This is where they got engaged, and it is simply lovely. We spent nearly an hour wandering around to different spots, and finally were so warm and sticky that they decided to go change. This is one of my favorite shots from under the "photo tree." It's supposed to be a great spot for pictures, and I'm sure it is, but at this particular time there were people sitting under it, which left us with one side of the tree for pictures. 'Twas fun.

You can take the girl off the farm, but you can't take the farm out of the girl. We headed back to L's family farm and grabbed these shots in one of their cornfields.

This one is for K. That big jumping guy? His name is Chip. We got a few pictures with all three of their dogs, and now I think I want a yorkie of my own.

This is one of the last shots of the day, and I love it. We think her dad will, too.

the wedding of l&t

L&T were married on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, near sunset on September 20 (I know! I'm behind!). It was just about a perfect day for a beach wedding--breezy and cool, and altogether delightful. The reception was held at the Sunset Room, also in Ocean City, but it looks out over the bay. Gorgeousness!
