the engagement of p&a

True confession: I didn't take a single one of these awesome pictures. My husband will be shooting this couple's wedding in June, assisted by my sister,so they were the ones who did the engagement session. They all met up in Ocean City, Maryland, and shot in and around the pier. I love these shots! I'm kinda jealous, too, because this couple is completely adorable and has amazing chemistry in front of the camera, so it's going to be a blast to shoot their wedding.

sneak peek of a family shoot

I did these family pictures on Good Friday, and had a total blast. We shot in Ocean City, Maryland, since that's where they were spending Easter together, and it was kind of cold and windy. Everyone was super-patient, though! It just motivated everyone to smile faster.

sneek peak: ten pictures

I'm super-excited about the wedding we shot this past weekend; the pictures are lovely. This is a super-tiny sampling, but I wanted to share just a few before life gets too crazy and I forget.

dress
Her dress was all lace, which was super-fun to shoot since we didn't have to worry about the dread WRINKLES.

::getting ready::

flowergirl
The flowergirl was the couple's daughter, and she was adorable! Also full of energy, as evidenced by this picture.

shoes
The bride kicked off her shoes literally seconds before she walked down the aisle. I love the randomness of this image.

ceremony

::cake::
So simple and lovely. This has to be a favorite.

the girls
We did bridesmaids pictures in Kiwanis Park. I love how they all look like wood nymphs here.

the guys
I couldn't nail the guys down on where they did pictures. Something like "all over"?

hooray!
Love. This. Image.

the kiss
Also this one. There are moments when Sussex County is just lovely, y'know?

Stats on this one:
wedding: Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Seaford, DE
reception: Jimmy's Grille, Bridgeville, DE

And we met an awesome wedding planner named Ginger, but I can't find her card right now, so I'll have to share that with you later.

e.session for e&s

S contacted me some months ago, before she was even engaged, about the possibility of doing a couples session during Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. I loved the idea, and was probably just as excited as she when E proposed a couple of weeks prior to the shoot. It had to to be postponed once because the trees weren't blooming, but when the big day finally arrived, we had perfect weather. E&S were troopers, walking all over DC in dress shoes (my feet hurt, and I was wearing converse), posing fearlessly in front of the hordes of strangers thronging DC, and continually looking cute on command. We were rewarded, I think, with some of my favorite photos ever. Here's to Cherry Blossoms!

more yellow
We started out (after trying to find each other) behind this tent because hello, it's yellow. And we all know how I feel about that.

very yellow
It's actually a Scientology booth; we snuck around to the back so they wouldn't try to talk to us. And were careful not to knock it over.

omg, shoes
Shoes!

Jared took this one, and I think it's a brilliant use of the fisheye.

yay!
Yay! How cure are they? This is their default pose.

I see some blue skies... bum bum bum.

holding hands
Le ring. A new perspective on that shot, and one that I like.

Cherry blossoms + texture= I like.

spidey!
Spidey kiss! He was being a goof and hanging from the tree, so i was like "kiss him!" I love it.

he's stuck
This is trying to get back into the tree.

smiles
I love the way she looks when she laughs.

avenue
I could have shot on this avenue for hours. Well, if it weren't full of strollers.

perfect
Isn't the backlighting amazing? Love the sunset.

like supermodels.
Goooorgeous.

quiet
Maybe my favorite? Not sure.

on the mall
Indie rock band? Nah, just cute.
